Services for Ethel Carey, 84, a lifetime Winterset resident who died Aug. 17 at the Madison County Hospital, were held Friday at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery at Prescott, Iowa.
She was born in Montgomery County, Iowa on Jan. 16, 1899, the daughter of George and Maud Wilson Carey. She had been a housekeeper at the Madison hospital, was a member of the Happy Hour Club and was recently residing at the Care Center North.
She is survived by a niece, Alice Marie Beardsley of Des Moines, and a nephew George C. Berry of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
