Elizabeth Ann Campbell, Wichita, Kan.

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Bruns Campbell of Wichita, Kans., died Thursday, June 16 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita at the age of 59. A memorial mass was celebrated Thursday June 16, at Magdalen Catholic Church in Wichita. Her body was donated by her request to Creighton University Medical College in Omaha, Neb.

Born on April 29, 1924, in Winterset, Betty was the daughter of Joseph E. and Jennie Allgeyer Bruns. She graduated from Winterset High School with the Class of 1942 and graduated from American Institute of Business in Des Moines. She played professional basketball for Pepsi Cola and worked as a secretary until her marriage to Russell Campbell of Paton, Iowa, on June 27, 1947. They moved to Wichita in December 1955.

She was a member of the Magdalen Catholic Church, Altar Society, St. Jude Guild and Lambda Tau Delta sorority.

She is survived by her husband Russell; daughter Nancy Rathbun of Wichita; two sons Craig Bruns of Wichita and Steven Bruns of The Woodlands, Texas; brothers Paul of Eldridge, Iowa and Robert of Karlsruhe, Germany; sisters, Mary Williams of California City, Calif., Peggy Page of San Diego, Calif., Genevieve Melroy of Winterset, and Dorothy Kennedy of Lake City, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joe and Jack.

A memorial has been established with the scholarship fund of Kapaun-Mount Carmel High School of Wichita.
