THELMA WOOLDRIDGE, Winterset

Thelma L. Wooldridge, 83, of Winterset, died of complications of surgery on Oct. 19, 1996 at the Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were Oct. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Winterset. Pastor Kurt Anderson officiated the services and burial was at the Brethern Cemetery in Panora.

She was born Nov. 18, 1912 in Willow Springs, Mo., to Fred and Ina (Moorehead) Mitchell. She married Bromley Rufus Wooldridge on March 1, 1935 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and had been a clerical worker for Look Magazine in Des Moines for 20 years. She had been a resident of Winterset since 1973, coming from Minburn. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and the First Baptist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Cliff Wooldridge and wife Verla Jean of Winterset, Norm Wooldridge of Bayard, and Dick Wooldridge and wife Connie of Marshalltown; three sisters, Gertrude Campbell, Ruth Mains, both of Redfield, and Jean Kirkendall of Newton; two brothers, Burdette 'Skip' Mitchell and Irven 'Murph' Mitchell, both of Afton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
