DANIEL M. HENCH Of Winterset Dies

Daniel M. Hench of Winterset died at his home here Sunday at the age of 83 years.

Mr. Hench was born Dec. 29, 1859, in Perry county, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Margaret Hench. He was married in 1883 to Margaret Neville. They were the parents of one daughter, the present Mrs. Grace Swanberg of Sutherland. The wife died in 1885, and on Dec. 14, 1887, he was married a second time to May Frizzell. They were the parents of four children, one of whom died in infancy and another, Alvin Hench, was killed in action in France on Oct. 18, 1918. His second wife died in 1899, and on June 19, 1910, he was married to Ellen Hazen, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Walter Swanberg of Sutherland and Mrs. Earl Cumming of Corydon;-- two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, J. L. Hench of Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Anderson funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong of the Church of Christ. Burial was made at Clarion.
