MISS VERNIE BUSCH DIES AT 88 YEARS

Vernie Busch, a life-time resident of the Macksburg community, died Nov. 13 at Greater Community hospital in Creston, after a brief illness. She was 88 years of age.

Miss Busch was born in Grand River township Sept.30, 1877, a daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Moon Busch. As a young woman she taught school in Grand River township. She graduated from the Des Moines Musical college and for many years taught piano at Macksburg, Rockwell City, Murray, Afton and Lorimor.

She served as pianist at the Macksburg Baptist church and later the Methodist church there. She was a charter member and past noble grand of the Hawthorn Rebekah lodge and received the degree of chivalry from the Grand lodge of Iowa.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. F. A. Bonham of Macksburg and Mrs. Rex M. Wilder of Creston.

Funeral services were held Nov. 16 from the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. William Richardson. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
