Mary Griffith Busch, 81, died Nov. 10, 2003, at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.

Private services will be held in California.

Mary Busch was born April 4, 1922, in Madison County to Ersie and Edna (Chase) Griffith. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1941. On Sept. 6, 1942, she married Les Busch of Macksburg. They lived in the Winterset and Des Moines areas until the spring of 1962, when they moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she was residing at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Robert, Paul and Frank; and a sister, Thelma.

She is survived by a daughter, Carmene "Kay" Westfall of the Long Beach, Calif. area; a brother, Wayne "Doc" Griffith of Winterset; a sister Kathryn Haymond of Winterset; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
