Bessie Burnett, Winterset

Funeral services for Bessie Pauline Burnett, 84, were held May 15 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Frank officiating. Mrs. Burnett died May 13, 1993, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Clarke County.

She was born November 27, 1908, in Clarke County to Alva and Lizzie (Kirk) Simmerman. She married Glen Burnett on July 22, 1925 in Osceola. A homemaker, she lived here 65 years.

Preceding her in death were her brother and sister.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Glen of Winterset; a daughter, Marlene Fettkether of Winterset; three brothers, Aubrey Simmerman of Truro; George and Robert Simmerman, both of Murray; three sisters, Nellie Housh of Texas, Helen Spellerberg and Mary Kirby of Osceola; a grandson, Gary Shearer of Peru; and great-granddaughter Jill Rindlisbacher of Vale, Ore.

Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
