Roy H. Burger of Winterset died Thursday, July 18 at the Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 82 years of age.
Mr. Burger was a son of parents who were pioneer settlers in this county. He was born in Jefferson township Jan. 10, 1886, a son of William H. and Albertina Marquardt Burger. His life was spent as a farmer and a stockman.
In partnership with his brother, the late Pete Burger, their farm operation in Jefferson township was long recognized for outstanding crop yields and progressive agricultural practices.
He was married in 1950 to Nelle W. Carpenter, who survives him.
Mr. Burger was a member of the First Baptist church in Winterset.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Liedtke of Moline, Ill.; and three step-children, Mrs. Betty Cummings of Tucson,Ariz., Mrs. Mary Jane Van Zyl of Woodland Hills, Calif., and James A. Wright of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday from the First Baptist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. H. E. Borum.
Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
