Raymond Dean Breakenridge, a former Madison county resident who served two terms in the Iowa House of Representatives, died recently in Louisiana at the age of 84.
Born in Madison county on Aug. 17, 1897, he was the youngest son of James and Helen Perkins Breakenridge. He attended local schools and graduated from Winterset High School in 1917.
On Sept. 14, 1918, he married Vera Bowen of Chariton, who survives him.
He was a farmer by occupation, and was involved in many community affairs, including the Farm Bureau, school board, fair board, Farmer's Cooperative Association and the Methodist church.
Mr. and Mrs. Breakenridge retired in 1971 and moved to Natchitoches, Lousiana.
Preceding him death were his parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Fern Christensen and two grandchildren.
