FLOYD RIEGLE Funeral At DeSoto

Funeral services for J. Floyd Riegle, well known Jefferson township farmer and hatchery operator, were held May 13 from the Methodist Church in DeSoto.

Mr. Riegle died at his farm home on Monday, May 10, 1965, at the age of 67.

The son of Seth and Julia Reigle, he was born at Melburn, Kansas on May 25, 1897. As a child he moved with his parents to Madison county. He was married to Alice McDonald on Jan. 15, 1927.

Mr. Riegle operated a hatchery at his farm for a number of years, and was for a time associated with the Pioneer Seed Corn Co. plant at Johnston, Iowa.

He was a 4-H club leader for 25 years, and at the time of his death was a Farm Bureau director.

He was a member of the old Fairview Methodist church in his neighborhood and later transferred membership to the DeSoto Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Mrs. Mabel Bennett of Broomfield, Colo., Gail of East Lansing, Mich., Seth, who is serving in the Armed Froces in Germany, and Elaine, a medical student at the University of Iowa; three grandchildren and one brother, Leonard, of Brighton, Colo.

Officiating at the service last Thursday was the Rev. Leonard Root of St. Charles, a former DeSoto minister. Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
