Della Mae "Dee" Brandt, 76, of Earlham, died of emphysema Feb. 21, 1997 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were Feb. 24 at the Dexter United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kathy Sides officiated the services and burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

She was born July 22, 1920 in Minneapolis, Kan., to David and Glendola Kinney. She married John Brandt. She had been a bookkeeper at Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Richard Rothert of Earlham, Larry Brandt of Peoria, Ariz., and Richard Brandt of Placquemine, La.; one daughter, Diane States of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Kinney of Van Wert, and Richard Kinney of Baton Rouge, La.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
