Eva Ardell Brady, 86, of Des Moines, died of cancer March 12, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at Epworth United Methodist Church in Des Moines on March 16 with the Rev. Reg Merrill officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.
Eva Brady was born Feb. 28, 1916 in Macksburg to Coyt and Stella (King) Herren. A 1933 graduate of Macksburg High School, she married Harold A. Brady in 1935. They lived in Macksburg until 1940 when they moved to Des Moines. Eva worked at Younkers for many years. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She married John Luxen in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister, a brother and a daughter-in-law.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Brady (wife Terri) of Des Moines, Dennis Brady of Tempe, Ariz., and David Brady (wife Sue) of Urbandale; a sister, Mildred Eyerly of Macksburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Epworth United Methodist Church of the American Cancer Society.

Des MoinesEva A. Brady, 86, of the 4600 block of Douglas Avenue died of cancer Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Epworth United Methodist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.
Mrs. Brady was born in Macksburg and had lived in Des Moines since 1940. She had worked in the deli department of Younkers and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
She is survived by three sons, Don of Des Moines, Dennis of Tempe, Ariz., and David of Urbandale; a sister, Mildred Eyerly of Macksburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Brady and John Luxen.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westover Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society.
