EDITH WYATT OF Winterset Dies

Mrs. Edith B. Wyatt of Winterset died Saturday, October 28, 1972, at Memorial Hospital here at the age of 67 years.

Mrs. Wyatt had been a resident of Madison County the last 28 years. She was the former Edith Bernice Smalley, daughter of Arthur and Dollie M. McConkey Smalley and was born in Des Moines December 15, 1904. She was married in Des Moines on February 26, 1925 to John V. Wyatt, Sr. His death occurred in 1968.

She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wyatt is survived by her mother, Mrs. Dollie M. Smalley of near Winterset; two sons, John V. Wyatt, Jr. of New Virginia and First Sgt. Jerry A. Wyatt of Ft. Polk, La.; three daughters, Mrs. F. J. Bain of Pomona, California, Mrs. Richard Shuey of Torrance, California and Mrs. Gene Meyer of Lynn Haven, Florida; and 10 grandchildren.

She also leavaes three brothers, Donald Smalley of West Des Moines and Wendel and Bernard Smalley of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Maurice Hutzell and Mrs. Harold Voitel of Des Moines and Mrs. Morrell Alleman of Grass Valley, California. Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the First United Methodist Church of Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Newton Coughenour. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
