Alfred H. Palmer
May 1, 1894 - March 12, 1984

Alfred H. Palmer, the son of George and Louella Byers Palmer, was born in Grinnell, Iowa on May 1, 1894 and died March 12, 1984 at Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa.

He was married to Anna Van Rheenan. Born of this union were two children, Bill Palmer of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Shirley Corkrean of Winterset, Iowa. In 1947 he was married to Gladys Fouts and they moved to Earlham, Iowa.

Alfred was a clerk in Brown's Grocery in Earlham and sold insurance. He was a World War I Veteran and a member of the Earlham Friends Church.

He is survived by the son and daughter; a brother, Herbert Palmer of Waterloo, Iowa; two step-daughters, Frances Price of Earlham, Iowa and Helen Hellstern of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, his former wife Anna and his late wife Gladys.

Services for Alfred, 89, who died Monday, March 12, 1984 at Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa were Thursday, March 15, 1984 at Earlham Friends Church in Earlham with Reverend Eldon Cole officiating. Irene Cole provided the organ music. Pallbearers were Steve Corkrean, Richard Corkrean, Garry Seemann, John Corkrean, Robert Bubon and Wayne Fastle. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.
