Lloyd Love, Earlham

Lloyd Elmer Love, 71, died of cancer Nov. 14, 1996 at the Kavanaugh House in Des Moines. Funeral services were Nov. 16 at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham. Pastor Ernest Baiotto officiated the services and burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 11, 1924, in rural Redfield to George and Martha (Van Cleave) Love. He married Phyllis Reinmuth in Dexter on Oct. 27, 1946. He was a lumberyard manager for 40 years managing the Earlham Building Center for 26 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a volunteer fireman with the Earlham Fire Department and had held the position of Fire Chief at one time. He also served as a volunteer Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the Earlham City Council. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during WW II in the Medical Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Earlham; one daughter, Linda Peebles and husband Gary of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Dan Love and wife Cindy of Woodward, and David Love and wife Cynthia of Des Moines; one brother, Vern Love and wife Betty of Sheridan, Wyo.; three sisters, Viola Travis of Jefferson, Fern Van Horn of Van Meter, and June Clark of Lodge Grass, Mont.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
