Ethel Marston Bond, Ankeny

Funeral services for Ethel Marston Bond, 95, were held at Christ United Methodist Church in Des Moines on Saturday, Jan. 4. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Bond died on Jan. 1, following a lengthy illness at Sunny View Care Center, Ankeny.

She was born at Dexter in 1890 to Arthur and Sarah Marston. Ethel and her late husband, Erwin, farmed near White Oak 41 years. They were active member of the White Oak United Brethren church where she taught Sunday school. They retired from farming and moved to Lemon Grove, Calif., where they lived three years. they moved to Ankeny in 1964 where she resided until her death.

Survivors are four daughters, Enolia Bond of Ankeny, Wilma Myers of San Diego, Calif., Ruth Bond of Ankeny, and Eyleen Severson of West Des Moines; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Erwin, in 1971.
