Lora W. Pryor
January 2, 1897 - June 24, 1980

Lora W. Pryor, the daughter of George and Lillian Hodson Couch was born January 2, 1897 in Dallas County, Iowa. She passed away June 24, 1980 at Winterset Care Center North after a lengthy illness.

Lora attended the Earlham Academy as a young woman.

On February 10, 1915 she was united in marriage to Clarence E. Pryor at the home of her parents. Their marriage was blessed by two sons and a daughter. They farmed in the Earlham area until they retired and moved to Earlham. Because of failing health Lora has lived at Madison Manor North in Winterset for the past few years.

Lora was a member of the Earlham Friends Church; a member and Past Matron of the Earlham Chapter of O.E.S., and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Ivan, and daughter, Mrs. Mildred DeVault, both of Earlham; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Lora was preceded in death by her husband who passed away June 1, 1977; a son, Rolland, who was killed in World War II, her parents, one brother and one sister.

Services were held at the Earlham Friends Church on June 26, 1980 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Eldon Cole officiated the service with Mrs. Irene Cole, organist.

Casket bearers were Robert Branam, Beryl Kenworthy, Wayne Koboldt, W. C. Price, George Radakovich and James Wilkie.

Interment was at the Earlham Cemetery.
