FYRNE DAVIS, Lorimor

Fyrne Lucile Davis, 87, of Lorimor died April 17, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastors Mike Carlson and John Shaull officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Baptist Church, with the family receiving friends from 6–8 p.m. Burial will be at Lorimor Cemetery.

Fyrne Davis was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Union County to Vern and Vera (Thomas) Honnold. On Sept. 16, 1939, she married Wayne J. Davis in Winterset. A longtime resident of Madison County, Fyrne had been a homemaker and school teacher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winterset, a Bible study group and the Happy Hour Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, and a sister, June Phyllis Thorn.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Irene Kirk and Sandra Faye Harper, both of Lorimor; one son, William Wayne Davis of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two brothers, Duane LaVerne Honnold of Lorimor and Verle Bill Honnold of Winterset; two sisters, Gloria May Weeks of Missouri City, Texas, and Jackie Joan Anderson of Bismarck, N.D.; and 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for Jewish Missions.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
