Richard Bittinger, Winterset

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 9, at First United Methodist Church for Richard Allen Bittinger, who died Friday Nov. 6, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 62.

Born in Belvidere, Neb. on Sept. 8, 1919, he was the son of Clarence and Clara Prudence Whitaker Bittinger.

He was a veteran, serving in the army, and belonged to the American Legion.

He moved to Winterset in 1955 and was employed at the Gold Room restaurant.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Lynn, Glenn and Chauncey; and one sister, Tillie Addyman.

Survivors include four brothers, Clarence and Bob of Winterset, Irvin of Indianola and Donald of Rockville, Maryland; four sisters, Ione Schweitzer of Corry, Penn., Esther Weber of Springfield, Mo., Ruth Jungck of Omaha and Ruby Wilkinson of Alexandria, Neb.

The body was cremated and interred at Winterset Cemetery.
