Ruth Bindel, Winterset

Ruth Evelena Bindel, 82, of Winterset died of a heart attack Nov. 13, 2000, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held a t 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with Father Chris Hartshorn and Father Ed Pfeffer officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Ruth Bindel was born Oct. 28, 1918, to Joe and Alice C. (Davison) Mink of Highland, Kan. She married George P. Bindel on May 5, 1934 in St. Joseph, Mo. A homemaker and farmwife. Ruth had lived the past 57 years in the Winterset area. She had previously resided in Brown County, Kan. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, twin infant sons, two brothers, three sisters and an infant granddaughter.

She is survived by three sons, G. W. " Bill" Bindel (wife Jacky) of Pocahontas, Paul E. Bindel (wife Connie) and James Bindel (wife Charis) both of Winterset; two daughters, Katherine Hartman (husband Dale) of Winterset and Mary E. Kinney (husband Gary) of Griswold; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Multi-Purpose Center.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
