November 9, 1901 - April 25, 1983Pauline Brown Hardin was born in rural Earlham November 9, 1901 to Milam E. Brown and Carrie Francis Brown. She died in Earlham April 25, 1983.
Pauline graduated from Iowa State College and Iowa State Teacher's College in Ames. She taught in Iowa and in Idaho until her marriage to Donald D. Hardin on November 12, 1927.
Pauline and Donald farmed in Paul, Idaho for twenty years, returning to Pauline's birthplace in Earlham in 1947, where they farmed until Don's death on July 12, 1968.
Pauline was active in the Earlham community and the Presbyterian Church. She taught adult Sunday school for forty years. She was a fine cook and a skilled gardener. She was interested in world affairs and well read.
She is survived by her three children: Donald, El Paso, Texas, Richard, San Francisco, California, and Carol Harris, Earlham, and nine grandchildren.

Services were Thursday, April 28, 1983 at the Earlham First Presbyterian church with the Reverend Gladys Priest officiating. Music was provided by Donna Fastle, organist. Pallbearers were Beryl Kenworthy, John Godby, Roy Harris, Earl Anker, Russell Ralston, Robert Bobst. Honorary pallbearers were Sheldon Strong, Earl Schalkle, Ralph Hunter, Merritt Harris, Gale Marston, and Marion Wilson.
Interment was at Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa. Professional arrangements by McKee Funeral Homes, Earlham and Dexter.
