Biddle Death Last Monday

Christian C. Biddle, 87, a resident of Pleasant Hill Nursing Center in Des Moines, died there Monday, Feb. 13, 1978. He was born May 5, 1890, at Bondurant, Iowa, the son of Christian C. and Ellen Hamilton Biddle.

Mr. Biddle was member of the Truro United Methodist Church, a retired farmer.

His education was in Polk and Shelby counties in Iowa and Harrington, Washington. On March 12, 1912, he was married to Nellie DeBoest at Granger, Iowa. The couple had seven children.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Bishop of Fullerton, Calif., June Karnes of West Des Moines, Ruth Biddle of Des Moines; two sons, John C. Biddle of Elburn, Ill., James Biddle of Des Moines, eleven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two children in infancy, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services for Christian C. Biddle were conducted Thursday Feb. 16, at 10:30 a.m. from Truro United Methodist Church, Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial was made at the Franklin Township Cemetery in Santiago, Iowa.
