Walter Berry, Winterset

Graveside services for Walter Warren Berry, 67, are to be held today, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Winterset Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Kerr officiating. Mr. Berry died April 23, 1993, in his home.

He was born December 29, 1925, to Walter and Almyra (Donner) Berry in Arispe. He married Dorothy Peacock on November 8, 1943 in Bethany, Mo. He was a retired machinist for John Deere. He moved here from West Des Moines seven years ago. He was a WW II veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a grandson.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Winterset; a son, Randy Berry of Burlington; two daughters, Sharon Theissen of Norwalk and Sheila Berry of Des Moines; two brothers, Elton Berry of Isle, Minn. and Jim Berry of Des Moines; one sister, Maxine Goesbeck of Lorimor; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
