Mildred M. Brittain
May 3, 1912 - December 14, 1987

Mildred M. Prior was born on May 3, 1912 at Stuart, Iowa to Della and John Prior. She graduated from Earlham High School in 1929 and then attended the Earlham Academy. Mildred taught country school south of Stuart until her marriage to Clyde Brittain on May 20, 1933 at Prescott, Iowa. To this union two sons and a daughter were born.

Mildred loved the quiet of her home, the surrounding of her family and her many neighbors and friends. For many years she was active as a local 4-H leader and on the Madison County 4-H Committee. She enjoyed her neighborhood clubs and was an active member of the Earlham United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Billy Brittain. Her survivors include her husband Clyde; son Marlin and his wife Gretchen; daughter Janet and her husband Jim Williamson; son Keith and his wife Bev; grandchildren, Chuck, Marla, Don, Jeff, Jeni, Deb and Suzie, and great grandchildren Chris and Eric.

Burial was in Earlham cemetery.
