J. Morris Boyle
April 6, 1907 - May 3, 1980

J. Morris Boyle, the son of Ervin and Millie Carrington Boyle, was born April 6, 1907 in Madison County, Iowa. He passed away suddenly Saturday morning, May 3, 1980, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Morris grew up in Madison County. In 1925 he graduated from Dexter High School.

On April 6, 1929 he was united in marriage to Lela Willison in Des Moines. This was also the birthday of both Morris and Lela. Last month they were privileged to celebrate their 51st anniversary.

Morris and Lela spent their life together farming in the Dexter area. Two sons and two daughters blessed their marriage.

Morris was a member of the Penn Center Methodist Church and the Dexter I.O.O.F. Lodge #215.

Morris was a proud and loving husband and father who enjoyed having his family around him.

Survivors include his wife Lela; two sons, Robert and Jerald both of Dexter; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Malmquist of Boxholm, Iowa and Mrs. Coleen Hayes of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Bulah Scheibe of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Carol Binns, of Adel.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Thrailkill who passed away in October, 1979.

Services were held at the Penn Center Methodist Church, Tuesday, May 6, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert G. Farr officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Marcella McCleary, organist. Casket bearers were Marvin Bennett, David Boyle, John Bunnell, Frederick Clausen, Clair Hochstetler and Alvin Scar.

Interment was at the Penn Center Cemetery. The I.O.O.F. held graveside services.
