Martha Mae Berch, 65, died Sept. 20, 2002, of multiple organ system failure at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 25) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Cremation followed the service.
Martha Berch was born March 7, 1937, in Iowa City to Lawrence and Lenore (Martin) Peacock. On May 21, 1955, she married Roy Lincoln Berch in Granite City, Mo. A retired homemaker, Martha was a lifetime resident of Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
She is survived by five sons, Bill Berch of Standish, Calif., Steve Berch of Winterset, Ted Berch of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bob Berch and Mike Berch, both of Peru; three daughters, Dixie Updike of Norwalk, Debbie Tibbets of Green Forest, Ark., and Deanna Dolan of Earlham; a brother, Jack Estes of Belmont, N.H.; a sister, Jeanette Anthony of Omaho, Neb.; and 12 grandchildren.
