Kathryn M. (Kay) Benoit, Winterset

Kathryn Marie (Kay) Benoit, 79, of Winterset died of congestive heart failure Monday, Feb. 2, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with Dr. George Lair officiating. Burial followed at Winterset Cemetery.

Kathryn Marie Benoit was born Nov. 22, 1918, in Colbran, Colo., to Harry Melvin and Mable Clare Wilson Orr. She was a 1936 graduate of Winterset High School and spent most of her lifetime in Madison County. She was employed as a sales clerk by Joseph's Jewelers. On Nov. 19, 1966, she married Robert Benoit in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sherry Dalrymple (husband Grant) of Des Moines and Judy Leslie of Winterset; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home of Winterset. Memorials may be directed to the family.
