Earl B. Bennett of Madison township, a well known county road worker for many years, died in Winterset his Tuesday morning following a heart attack. His death occurred at the office of a local physician. He was 50 years of age.

Mr. Bennett was a life-long resident of Madison county, and had earned the friendship and respect of all who came into contact with him. He was born in this county Oct. 2, 1897, the son of George and Isabell Bennett. For many years he had operated road maintainers on the secondary roads for various townships of the county. At the time of his death he was in charge of the roads in Douglas township. He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge at Earlham.

He is survived by his wife, the former Daisy Wilson Hoadley; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett; a sister, Mrs. Albert Wolfe of Des Moines; and two brothers, Ward and Kyle Bennett, both of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday from the Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Fairview cemetery.
