Alice L. Bell, California

Alice L. Bell, 83, of Santa, Ana, Calif., died Dec. 20, 2000, from complications of a stroke at her residence.

The cremains will be scattered at sea.

Alice Bell was born Dec. 23, 1916, to Robert and Alice (Trunnel) White of Bondurant. She was raised in Colfax, graduating from Colfax High School. In July 1934, she married Leonard Bell in Colfax. They had resided in Macksburg from 1947-65 where they owned and operated the Mobil Gas Station and Garage. In 1965, they moved to California. Alice was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Macksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay Schutz (husband Larry) of Santa Ana; two sisters, Flossie Rexroat of Pocatello, Idaho, and Larita Andis of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Jesse White of Urbandale; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary in Santa Ana.
