Glen Belew, Macksburg

Services for Glen I. Belew, 72, Macksburg, who died Dec. 19 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Friday, Dec. 23 at Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Kaiser officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery.

Born in Missouri on June 6, 1916, he was the son of David and Mary Lancaster Belew. He was a retired auto and diesel mechanic and was also a vegetable farmer.

Mr. Belew was married to Eve Austin on Jan. 30, 1975 at Albany, Mo. He had lived in Macksburg for four and a half years and had previously lived in Peru. A member of the Full Gospel religion, he was pastor at Salem, Mo., and also an evangelist.

Survivors includes his wife; sons, Robert of Melbourne, Fla., and David of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and daughters, Alisha Joy, Lisa, Neena and Dina; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
