Helena Witt Beatty, Butler, Pa.

Helena Witt Beatty, 79, died Fri., Jan 25 at Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, Pa. Services were held January 28 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, Butler.

She was born in Macksburg, December 1, 1912, to Ora and Carrie Mayer Witt. She was a former school teacher in Iowa and was employed by the FBI in Washington, D.C. Community membership and involvement includes the following: Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, Maqueda Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star-past matron, appointed district deputy grand matron to the grand chapter of Pennsylvania, past president of Maqueda Chapter Past Matron's Club, advisory board of Butler Assembly 25 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls receiving the Rainbow Honor, General Richard Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution-past regent, state program chairman of the Pennsylvania State Society DAR, Central North West Regents Club, the Connoquenessing Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists-past regent, Pennsylvania State Huguenot Society, charter member and former director of the Butler County Historical Society, six years on the board of directors of the Butler Young Women's Christian Association, Butler Women's Club and Butler County Council of Republican Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and a sister.

Surviving are a daughter Wanda Mayhew of Butler; a brother, Robert A. Witt, Sr. of Macksburg; and two grandchildren.

Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
