FRED BEELER DIED HERE ON FRIDAY

Resident of Truro Area for Most of Life; Was 77 Years Old

P. F. (Fred) Beeler, a resident of the Truro area most of his life died Friday, March 19, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Beeler was born in Ohio township Feb. 17, 1888, a son of Othello and Emma Deardorff Beeler. During his active years he had engaged in banking and farming. For the last 17 years he had lived in Des Moines, where he served as an orderly at Lutheran hospital. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He was married April 12, 1911 at Peru, to Wilma Phillips. She preceded him in death in 1955.

Funeral services were held this Monday, in charge of the Rev. Weldon A. Whitenack. Burial was made in Laurel Hill cemetery in Des Moines.

P. F. Beeler Dies; Rites Monday

P. Fred Beeler, 77, who served 15 years as an orderly at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after retiring as president of a bank at Peru, Ia., died Friday in Madison Manor Nursing Home at Winterset. Ill with diabetes, he entered the nursing home several months ago.

A native of Peru, Mr. Beeler moved to Des Moines after his retirement from the bank. He worked as hospital orderly until two years ago when illness necessitated amputation of a leg. Later, he returned in a wheel chair to keep records in the hospital maintenance department.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Services will be a 1:30 p. m. Monday at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Graveside services will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

There are no immediate family survivors.
