Mae Beeler, Winterset

Mae Beeler, 74, of Winterset, died of a liver ailment July 22, 1995 at the Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were July 25 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Father Frank Palmer officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset cemetery.

She was born in Winterset on Nov. 11, 1920 to Michael and Margaret (Johnson) Breen. She married Charles Beeler on Aug. 10, 1943 in Winterset.

She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset and a member of the St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society, the Progressive Study Club, and the Winterset Booster Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Terese Beeler; three brothers, John, Robert and Michael Breen; and two sisters, Catherine Cunningham and Florence Nolan.

Surviving relatives include her husband; five sons, Douglas Beeler of Ashville, N.C., Michael Beeler and wife Jayne of Winterset, Thomas Beeler and wife Juanita of Winterset, Robert Beeler and wife Sheila of Overland Park, Kan., and Troy Beeler and wife Jennifer of Shelby, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Wilson and husband Marv of Overland Park, Kan., Barbara Prpich and husband Jim of Vernonia, Ore., and Julie McFarlin and husband Dave of Clinton, Mo.; and 19 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Alzheimers Research Association.
