MYRTLE DRAKE, Winterset

Myrtle Drake, 88, died of diabetes Sat., March 14, 1992, at Bethesda Care Center, where she was a resident. Services were held March 17 at Mosher Funeral Home, Milo.

She was born in Swan June 6, 1903 to Riley and Mabel Phillips and married Fred Drake January 21, 1924 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and lived in Milo for several years, moving to Winterset, five years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Surviving are a son, John of Lacona; seven daughters, Charlotte Johnson, Roberta Hatfield and Judy Murray, all of Des Moines, Beverly Allsup of Winterset, Carolyn Miller of Knoxville, Freda Herman of Springfield, Mo. and Dixie Conkling of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Darlene Southwick and Lena Wandling, both of Des Moines; 33 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Sandyville Cemetery.
