DOUG HART, Coralville

Doug Hart, 73, of Coralville, died of a stroke Dec. 31, 1996 at his residence. Funeral services were Jan. 4 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bob Epperson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born in Indiana on Dec. 7, 1923 to Ray and Addie (Reade) Hart. He married Avis Maureen Feaster on Aug. 25, 1942 in Portland, Ore. He was an entertainer and had lived most of his lifetime in the Des Moines area, living the last five years in Coralville. Traveling throughout the country, he was part of a family act, specializing as a tight-rope artist for various circuses.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

Surviving relatives include one son, Douglas Ray Hart of Des Moines; three daughters, LaReleyn Goddard and husband Dale of Longmont, Colo., Clydia Jacobsen and husband Jim of Anoka, Minn., and Kathy Gill and husband Bill of Coralville; three brothers, Jack Hart of Kendallville, Ind., Ralph Hart of Elyria, Ohio, and Galen Hart of Livingston, Texas; one sister, Dixie Hunter of Wolcottville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
