Aura Bass, Winterset

Aura C. Bass, 90, of Winterset, died of a stroke Oct. 12, 1994 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were Oct. 15, 1994 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Jasper County and had lived in Winterset for many years prior to moving to Indianola in 1972. She was born to James and Rebecca (Dawson) Cross and had married George Bass who died in 1978. She was an operator for North Western Bell and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Winterset American Legion Auxiliary; the Telephone Pioneers Club; and a volunteer at the V.A. Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews.
