ORIE BANKER OF WINTERSET DIES

Death Occurred Here on Sunday, at Age of 66 Years

Orie E. Banker of Winterset died here Sunday, May 21 at the age of 66 years.

Mr. Banker was a native of Madison county. He was born near Pitzer on Jan. 9, 1895, a son of Jacob and Etta Snyder Banker. Most of his life was spent in Madison and Adair counties.

He worked as an automobile mechanic during his active life, but had been retired in recent years. He lived for several years at Waterloo, where he was a member of the Moose lodge.

Mr. Banker was married in 1929 to Nellie Dunn. Her death occurred in 1938. In 1940 he was married at Waterloo to Myrtle Miller. She also preceded him in death.

Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Steepy of Marion; two grandchildren; a brother, Ross Banker of Rockford, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Berwin Fife and Mrs. Orpha Wight of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Anderson-Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
