Aline D. Ballard, Macksburg

Services for Aline D. Ballard, 82, Macksburg, who died at the Madison County Hospital Feb. 27, were held March 2, at the United Methodist Church at Macksburg with the Rev. Stanley Ganzel officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Born Jan. 5, 1904 at Gamaliel, Ky., she was the daughter of Bruce and Eva Hayes. She was married to Claire M. Ballard at Sumatra, Mont., in 1923.

She lived in Montana from 1915 until moving to Macksburg in 1939. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was a member of the Methodist Church, the Macksburg Garden Club and the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean E. Swan; sisters, Viola Thornberg, and Goldie Kicker, both of Missoula, Mont.; and a brother, Clarence Hayes of Hysham,, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a daughter and husband.

Several errors were made in the obituary of Aline D. Ballard of Macksburg, who died Feb. 27 at the age of 82. One error was her birth date, which was incorrectly listed as Jan. 5, 1904 when it was actually Jan. 5, 1903.

Listed incorrectly as a survivor was a daugher, Mrs. Jean E. Swan, who is deceased. The correct list of survivors includes a son, Keith Ballard and wife Barbara of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; three grandchildren, Kelly and Wayne Swan and Terry Ballard; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Ballard; sisters, Viola Thornberg and Goldie Kicker, both of Missoula Mon.; and a brother, Clarence Hayes of Hysham, Mont.
