Kenneth J. Ball, Des Moines

Services for Kenneth J. Ball, 63, Des Moines, who died May 10 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital were held Monday, May 13 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.

Born at Lorimor on March 14, 1922, he was the son of Lyman E. and Rebecca Finegan Ball. He had lived in the Winterset and Lorimor area until moving to Des Moines in 1969. He retired in 1971 as an electrician and laborer and at one time worked for the City Light Co., and the REA. Mr. Ball was a member of the Christian Church.

On Sept. 4, 1945 he was married to Evelyn Welcher at Troy, Kan.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Steven of Shreveport, La., and Robert and Jerry, both of Winterset; daughters, Mrs. Judy Howard of West Des Moines, Mrs. Barbara Ritter of Rockaway Beach, Mo., and Mrs. Twila Salsbury of St. Charles; sister, Opal Solinger of Afton, Burneice Frazier of Los Angeles and Wanda Handley of Omaha; 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two grandchildren.
