Services For Kenneth Bales Held Saturday

Funeral services for Kenneth N. Bales, well-known Jackson township farmer, were held Saturday morning, April 15, from the Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola.

Mr. Bales died suddenly last Thursday at his home on a farm which he had operated south of Dexter in Madison county for the past 27 years. He was 62 years of age.

A son of Harold and Bess McDole Bales, he was born near Indianola on Oct. 18, 1915. He was educated in the Indianola schools, and farmed in Warren county before moving to Madison county. He was married to the former Thelma Church of Indianola.

Mr. Bales was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church and of the 5x80 Country club near Menlo.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Arndt of Truro and Mrs. Mary Curnes of Grimes; and a sister, Virginia Randolph of Des Moines.

Officiating at the funeral service was Pastor John Long of Indianola. Burial was in the Indianola IOOF Memorial Gardens.
