BERT YOUNG Of St. Charles Dies

Bert A. Young of St. Charles, a well-known farmer of South township, died at his home Saturday, Dec. 26, 1960, at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Young was born at St. Marys, in Warren county, on March 19, 1888, a son of Amon E. and Laura Neal Young. His life was spent in farming. He graduated from the St. Charles high school with the class of 1906 and spent his life in Madison and Warren counties with the exception of a brief period during which he lived in Minnesota, California and Michigan.

He was married at Indianola on Sept. 24, 1913, to Evelyn O. Johnson who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Gene A. Young of Long Beach, Calif., and Norman A. Young of St. Charles; a daughter Mrs. Edna Petersen of Truro; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the First Methodist church at Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. John C. Porath. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
