YOUNG WOMAN OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Mrs. Albert Baker Passed Away March 9 at Age of 35 Years

Mrs. Albert Baker, well known young woman of the St. Charles community, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines Tuesday, March 9, at the age of 35 years. As a child, she had suffered an attack of rheumatic fever, which left her with a heart condition from which she never fully recovered.

Mrs. Baker was the former Mable Maxine Kirk, only child of John and Estelle Kirk. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, near Lorimor, and her early life was spent in that community.

She was married to Albert Baker on Sept. 4, 1937. They made their home in Des Moines until 1944, when they moved to near St. Charles.

Mrs. Baker had united with the Madison Chapel Church of Christ as a girl. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Lorimor and later at St. Charles.

She is survived by her husband; their small son, Dean; and her mother, Mrs. Estelle Kirk of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Madison Chapel Church of Christ, in charge of the Rev. V. R. Willey, and with Eastern Star rites conducted by the officers of Model chapter of St. Charles. Burial was made in the Union cemetery.
