Funeral services for Ralph L. Wheeldon, 76, were held April 19 at Hamilton’s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Des Moines. Mr. Wheeldon died of a respiratory ailment on April 15, 1993, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Wheeldon was born in Booneville and moved to Winterset in 1991 after 27 years in DeSoto. He retired as a production worker at Marquete (Marquette) Cement and was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Joyce Waggoner of West Des Moines; a son, Charles of DeSoto; five sisters, Marie Jay of Helendale, Calif., Betty Boyd of Earlham, Jean Boots of Atlantic, Mary Travis of South Gate, Calif., and Ellen Thompson of Albany, Mo.; a brother, Richard Wheeldon of Lorimor; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
