Funeral services were held March 5th from the Kale Funeral home in Truro for Mrs. Clara Belle Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was 85 years of age at her death. She was the former Clara Bell Yount, daughter of Oren and Ida Yount, and was born near Ashawa, Ia., on March 1, 1881. When she was 20 years old she was married at Red Oak to Lloyd Smith. They were parents of one son.
Four years later she was married at Osceola to Arch Bailey. They were parents of two daughters. Mr. Bailey preceded her in death.
Surviving are the son, Lyle Smith of Norwalk; the two daughters, Mrs. Mary Haines of New Virginia and Mrs. Pauline Boller of Omaha; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Clara Belle Yount, daughter of Oren and Ida Yount was born March 1, 1881 near Ashawa, Ia, and departed this life at the age of 85 years and 2 days. At the age of 18 she joined the Christian church at Elliott, Ia., and in later years she put her letter into the Christian church at Truro, Ia.
At 20 years of age she was united in marriage to Lloyd Smith at Red Oak, Ia., and to this union a son was born, Lyle Smith of Norwalk, Ia.
Four years later she was united in marriage at Osceola, Ia., to Arch Bailey and to this union two daughters were born. Mary Haines of New Virginia and Pauline Boller of Omaha, Nebr. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, Arch and sister, Minnie Brooken.
She is survived by one son; Lyle Smith of Norwalk, Ia.; two daughters, Mary Haines of New Virginia, and Pauline Boller of Omaha, Nebr.; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Clara was a good friend and neighbor always ready to lend a helping hand.
She was a good and loving mother and all will miss her very much. She and her husband lived on a farm near New Virginia and later retired to Truro where she remained until her health failed and she went to live with her daughter, Mary and husband. She spent the last two months of her life in Strable Nursing Home in St. Charles, Ia.
Services were held at the Kale Funeral Home, Truro, Ia., March 5, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Cecil Murrow officiated. Interment was in New Virginia cemetery.
