Milford Bowles Mott

EARLHAM-A funeral for Milford Bowles Mott, 85, of Earlham was held July 20, 1991 at the Bear Creek Friends Meeting house near Earlham. Mr. Mott died of cancer on July 16 at the Earlham Health Care Center. Burial was at the Bear Creek Cemetery near Earlham.

The son of Chester and Joanna Bowles Mott, he was born near Viola on July 28, 1905. He graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City. He married Edith Gamble of Winona, Ohio in 1932, and she died in 1962. In 1963, he married Donna Mae Moreman Anderson at Olivia, Minn. He taught school in Ohio and Nebraska, and also sold life insurance and worked in social services in Kentucky and West Virginia. He was the county director of human services in Pocahontas County, retiring in 1973. In October 1983, he moved to Earlham.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Mae of Earlham.
