1967GOLDIE ARMSTRONG DIES AT 75 YEARS
Had Taught School In This County For 25 Years
Funeral services for Mrs. Asa Armstrong, 75, were held Tuesday afternoon, July 11, from the Foursquare Church in Winterset. A Madison county resident all her life, Mrs. Armstrong died July 8 at her farm home in Webster township.
The former Goldie Kirk, her parents died when she was a small child and she was raised in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes of Winterset.
She was married to Asa Armstrong on March 16, 1910. Mrs. Armstrong taught for 25 years in the rural schools of Madison county.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Marian Lynch of Earlham and Lois Ingram of Winterset; one sister, Lota Armstrong of Winterset; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
An infant daughter and granddaughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Armstrong was an active member of the Oak Grove E.U.B. church where she served as pianist and Sunday School teacher.
Officiating at the funeral service was the Rev. Charles Updike. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
