Buena Anderson Services Held

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Winterset last Friday, March 15, for Mrs. Buena V. Anderson, a former resident of Winterset for many years. She died Tuesday, March 12, at the Dallas county Hospital in Perry, at the age of 83.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Madison County in 1890, the daughter of John C. and Nancy Jemima Thompson. In 1919 she married Neil W. Anderson, and the couple lived in Des Moines until 1931. In that year, they moved to Winterset, where Mr. Anderson operated the Anderson Funeral Home for 30 years. For the past several years, Mrs. Anderson had resided at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset and of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Paul M. Anderson of Ames, Iowa; and by one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Frances) Brock of Madison, Connecticut. Other survivors include six grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Georgia Bond of San Francisco and Mrs. Sara Deakin of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil, in 1970.

Funeral services were held at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset last Friday, March 15, with the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines and the Rev. Alan Parker of Winterset officiating. Burial was at the Masonic Cenetery in Des Moines.
