AGNES ANDERSON DIES IN TEXAS

Former Agnes Melroy of Winterset Dies at 65 Years

Mrs. George J. Anderson, formerly of Winterset, died last Friday, May 24, at San Antonio, Tex., where she had lived in recent years. She was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Anderson was the former Agnes Melroy of near Winterset. She was born and spent her early life here, with the exception of a few years in Colorado as a small child.

As a young woman she was married to George J. Anderson, and they spent their early married life at Waverly. Shortly before World War II they moved to San Antonio. His death occurred in 1946.

After the death of her husband, she lived about a year in Winterset before returning to San Antonio.

She leaves a son, Joe Melroy of Carson City, Nev.; and two daughters, Mrs. Jane McAuliffe of California and Mrs. Mary Kutac of San Antonio. Also surviving are a sister, Sister Frances Marie of Davenport; and six brothers, Ed Melroy of Davenport, Francis Melroy of Winterset, Thomas Melroy of Davenport, James Melroy of Denver, Colo., Walter Melroy of San Francisco, Calif., and John Melroy of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday from the Catholic church at Waverly, with burial in the cemetery there.
