Ruth Allison, Marshalltown

Ruth Leone Allison, 73, of Marshalltown died May 5, 2002, of a stroke at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 8, at Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with the Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial was at Osborn Cemetery, Lovilia.

Ruth Allison was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Liberty Township Warren County, to Horace Wesley and Wanda Loretta (Woodyard) Lester. She was a graduate of Liberty Center High School. She married Clifford Rex "Curly" Allison on Feb. 20, 1951. A homemaker, Ruth had resided in Albia for over 30 years, in Winterset from 1983 until 1995 and in Marshalltown from 1995 until her death. She was a member of the Good Sam's Club in Winterset and the American Legion and V.F.W. auxiliaries in Albia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.

She is survived by three daughters, Wanda Campbell of Albia, Mona Knospe (husband Randall) of Marshalltown and Kristen Oliver (husband William P.) of Stuart; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
