Leland E. Hadley, Ottumwa

Services for Leland E. Hadley, 50, Ottumwa, who died August 3 were held August 7 at the Bear Creek Friends Church at Earlham with the Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Burial was at the Bear Creek Cemetery.

Born August 11, 1939 near New Virginia, he was the only child of Simeon and Faye Bland Hadley. The family moved to Earlham in 1941 and later to Dexter where they lived until 1955.

After the death of his parents, he lived at Quakerdale Home and graduated rom (from) New Providence High School in 1957. He attended William Penn College for three years, then worked in Des Moines for a time before moving to Ottumwa. He worked in Fairfield over 25 years at what was then Louden Mfg. Co.

Mr. Hadley attended Bear Creek Friends Church while living in the vicinity. He was in failing health the past two years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one half-sister, Maxine Carter. He is survived by two half-sisters, Margaret Harvey of Indianola and Eleanor Burton of Warsaw, Mo.
